Corrugated paper (Corrugated medium base paper) is the core material to produce corrugated board. It is a type of corrugated paper processed by a special technique and its main characteristics and applications are as follows.

Feature

  1. Structural properties: The corrugated core paper is pressed into a continuous corrugated shape by the corrugating rolls. This corrugated structure can significantly improve the compressive strength, cushioning performance, and space utilization of the board.
  2. Physical and mechanical properties: It has high stiffness and ring compression strength, which ensures that it maintains a stable shape under stress, and at the same time it has a certain degree of water absorption and laminating adaptability, which makes it easy to bond with the face paper and liner paper to form a solid corrugated board.
  3. Raw materials and production process: Corrugated medium is usually made from semi-chemical pulp (wood pulp), wastepaper pulp or mixed pulp, which is copied on a paper machine and subjected to the appropriate pulping process to meet the required physical specifications.
  4. Environmental friendliness:   Most corrugated paper products can be recycled and the corrugated medium as part of this process also has good recycling properties.

Applications

  • Packaging: Corrugated medium is mainly used to produce corrugated boxes, which are suitable for transport packaging of various products such as food, electronic products, daily necessities, household appliances and other industries, providing good protection.
  • Logistics industry: Due to its light weight and high strength, it is widely used in the production of pallets, pallet boards and various logistics handling containers.
  • Other uses: In addition to the basic packaging function, it can also be used as a thermal insulation material or lightweight structural part in construction, furniture manufacturing and other fields.
